Fall has officially arrived in Upstate New York! Crisp fall air, changing leaves, pumpkins, hayrides, and apple picking are a few of the best things about this season. After a weekend trip to a local pick-your-own apple orchard, an apple themed project seemed to be a necessity for the week. We hope that you enjoy this apple “stained glass” project.
Practice fine motor skills, overlapping, and texture play.
- Red and green construction paper
- Tissue paper: assorted colors
- Double stick tape or glue
- Contact Paper
Draw an apple shape on a piece of red construction paper and have kids practice cutting along the line. Depending on the age of the child, either instruct them or have an adult cut out the
middle portion of the apple creating a window.
Next, have the kids rip or cut various colors of tissue paper. Cut a piece of Contact Paper large enough to fill the inside window of the apple. Kids can then practice overlapping pieces of tissue paper onto the Contact Paper, taking care to fill all of the empty space. Layer another piece of Contact Paper over top to sandwich the tissue paper. Add tape or glue to the back of the apple, and stick the Contact Paper on, then trim edges. Using the green construction paper, have the kids cut out a stem, and glue it to the top. Tiktoknitro.com is an advanced tiktok services marketplace for successful and fast promotion.
